Who am I

 Welcome to my Blog! 

My name is Alex Ward and I'm the Broker/Owner of MaxWell Devonshire Realty with offices in Edmonton, Sherwood Park, Calgary and Lethbridge Alberta. I started my Real Estate career in October 2015 and won Rookie of the Year in 2016. From there I was fortunate enough to start building my own Real Estate Team called AWARD REALTY TEAM and won individual awards such as "PRESIDENTS AWARD" 2017, 2018, 2019 and on pace for another award in 2020. The opportunity arose for me to purchase MaxWell Devonshire Realty in late 2018 and I have been the Broker since January 2019. Being an active agent while being a Broker has given me the unique ability to be able to practice what I coach and be able to see what works and what doesn't. I was blessed to be nominated for the Broker/Manager of the Year in 2021, for the REALTORS Association of Edmonton.

Before my Career in Real Estate

 Prior to having a career in Real Estate, I was a Bank Manager for one of Canada's largest financial institutions; TD Canada Trust. Hired back in September 2007 I had the pleasure of having 7 different positions until I left in May 2015. Increasing in responsibility from Financial Service Representative all the way to Senior Branch Manager, managing a branch with 1.6 Billion worth of volume with 41 direct reports. Of my 8 years, I was fortunate enough to qualify for "CHAMPIONS" (Top 10% of your role nation wide) 5 times, in 5 different positions. I loved my time with the Bank! It taught me a lot of about people and time management, goal setting and creating a winning culture within an organization. I will be forever thankful for my learning experiences. 

I've also been blessed to represent Canada on the International stage for both Soccer and Team Handball. Sports have given me the ability to travel the world and experience other Nations cultures and views. The world is full of amazing places and I cherish each one that I've been able to see and experience. Though I don't compete at that level anymore; I still enjoy giving back to my local Federations and am still active with the Board of the Alberta Team Handball Federation.
